A Little of the Old In and Out
In: Jerry Hall's 'Kept Man.' This new show idea where Mick Jagger's ex plays a sugarmommy is kind of interesting. The Corsair could think of worse things than lounging around Mustique in a speedo, fetching drinks, living la vida loca filled with fabulosity, at the beck and call of Jerry Hall's "sugarwalls." British Vogue reports today:
"JERRY HALL is calling upon all 'attractive and charismatic' men to apply to act as her new beau on her reality show, Kept. The new series will see 15 men compete to act as Hall's 'kept' man, according to MSNBC.COM. 'The lucky competitors will share in Hall's life of luxury, accompanying her to star-studded events, rock 'n' roll parties and socialising with her friends and family in London,' says the casting notice. The men should 'appear to be between the ages of 25 and 40 [and must] send a photo, tape and rsum in the hope of being selected by Hall for the VH1 show, which is scheduled for next year.'"
Aren't we all "kept men"?

Out: The Youth Vote. Vote or Die? Are you talking to me? Let's face it, the kids weren't scared. P Diddy is about as threatening as David Spade, even I could "take him out." According to The San Francisco Gate:
"This was not the breakout year for young voters that some had anticipated.
"Fewer than one in 10 voters Tuesday were 18 to 24, about the same proportion of the electorate as in 2000, exit polls indicated."

How in the hell did youth turnout not increase. I'm 24 and I do not know anyone in my peer group who did not vote in this election. And I live in Chicago, where our votes for Kerry are pretty unnecessary as our state will pretty much go democratic no matter what. What the fuck is wrong with young people in Ohio, Florida, etc. where they could actually make a difference???
I was thinking the same thing. Votes in all categories incresed this election, but the number of new youth voters didn't catch up with the increase trend so, in the end, the youth percentage of the vote was the same as 2000. Sad. In the end, the evangelical Christians were -- surprise -- more reliable. The kids were busy eating cold pizzas and doing keggers. ;-(
