Howard Stern Is Voting For Barack Obama

Despite the fact that Howard Stern earns $80 million a year, he has, and has had, his finger on the pulse of the working class American. The massive salary may be a reason why, in the past, he was reluctant to give out the particulars of his salary.

That was then; this is now. Stern was, previously to Tuesday's Howard Stern satellite radio show, a "Hillary Democrat." Stern was such a Hill-Dem that after her loss, Stern contemplated going to McCain. This blog counselled that Obama -- who has a weakness in connecting to the white working class voter -- should go on the Stern show and solicit his endorsement. That, thankfully, seems no longer necessary.

McCain's pick of Palin shored up the Evangelicals, but it appears to have turned off the bellwether of the Blue-Collar, Howard Stern. Her anti-abortion stance should make Pennsylvania a nail-biter, but by and large -- minus the infamous God/Ohio/anti-gay marriage nexus of 2004 -- we have found that over the years Stern is a good predictor of how the white working class voters pulls the lever. From Marksfriggin:

"Howard said he knows very little about Obama so he wasn't going to vote for him. He said that now that McCain has picked this woman as his running mate, he can't vote for him. Howard said that this Palin woman hasn't done all that much that he knows about. He said that she supports creationism in schools and that's not going to fly with him.

"Howard said that he doesn't know where Obama stands on a lot of stuff. He said that Joe Biden might be okay as a running mate but the guy isn't all that great either. He stole a guy's speech years ago. Fred said that it was from some guy from the UK that he stole the parts of his speech from.

Howard said that McCain is an old man and you have to make sure the VP is someone who is in good shape just in case McCain doesn't last long. Howard said he was thinking of voting for McCain until this announcement."
