Al Franken: So Lorne Michaels Put Me On The Phone With Seth Meyers And They Just Ran With It
You know that awkward ending of political commercials when the candidate says "I'm so-and-so and I endorse this message. Minnesota Senate candidate -- and douchebag -- Al Franken spoke to Ed Schultz this afternoon about the right-wing blog blow back that he supposedly wrote an SNL skit. "I really take those things seriously," said Franken, speaking of the approval message at the tail end of political ads, "... and I was wondering how John McCain feels (about his ads) ..."
So Franken called his former boss and friend, Lorne Michaels, the Executive Producer of Saturday Night Live. "And Lorne went .. oh, okay, that's hilarious ... I'll put (SNL headwriter Seth Meyers on this ... so he put me on the phone with Seth and they just ran with this .."
Franken said he didn't know it was going to be on until he tuned in that night, nor did he write anything for the show. And for the right-wing conspiratorialists: Lorne Michaels, a longtime McCain friend, has donated $2300 to JOHN MCCAIN 2008 INC. thus far. According to Fundrace Michaels has given nothing -- financially -- to Senator Obama.
