And so it begins. As fashionistas roam the streets of New York sipping the fizzy and spending ungodly sums on baubles, the following news kind of offsets the, uh, lightness of the proceedings. Conde Nast Media Group and Citi are teaming up today through September 15 to benefit Stand Up To Cancer. All proceeds will go to fighting cancer. Some really cool -- if you go in for that sort of thing -- items are being auctioned to benefit a good cause. The site is on eBay. Among some of the items being auctioned:
-- GRAMMY Award winning artist and producer Mark Ronson will review an aspiring musician's demo or song and evaluate their music
-- 2 tickets to the Diane Von Furstenberg February 2009 Fashion Show and VIP gift bag
-- 2 tickets for a private tour of the 2009 Costume Institute Exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on a Monday when the museum is closed in Summer 2009, compliments of Vogue.
---- Signed copy of Vanity Fair: The Portraits by Graydon Carter and dinner for 2 at Waverly Inn.
-- 2 tickets to the Glamour "Women of the Year" Awards at Carnegie Hall
-- 2 tickets to the annual Conde Nast Traveler "Hot List" party in New York City
