Media-Whore's D'Oevres
"The elusive and press-shy Colette duo of Sarah Lerfel and her mother, Colette Roussaux, were drawn into the spotlight Wednesday afternoon when Paper’s Kim Hastreiter and David Hershkovits dedicated their magazine’s annual fashion lunch to celebrating the hip Paris retailer’s 10th anniversary birthday. 'They’re the art tip of fashion,' said Hastreiter, who was being trailed by a reporter from The New Yorker doing a story on her for the Condé Nast title’s fall fashion issue. 'Sarah’s more a magazine editor than a retailer. It’s about style, not fashion, for them.'" (Fashionweekdaily)
"But heroin is dimly lit hotel rooms, haggard girlfriends, and an atonal soundtrack. Before getting hooked, or even shooting it once, I’d need to see it depicted in a movie like Sideways, where two lovable, cuddly heroin addicts—middle-aged in that sitcom-y kinda sheepish smile way that middle age is depicted in movies—do a jaunty tour of Alphabet City, sampling a weekend’s worth of dope before one of them gets married. 'Oh, this is hitting me just right. I feel—there’s some strychnine, but underneath there’s a loamy bass note of autumnal Afghanistan poppy fields, and… and… there it is!… a flutter of tangy stomach acid from where they cut the baggie out of the mule’s belly after they chloroformed her in a Super 8 Motel in Hoboken.'" "Hollywood filmmaker Steven Spielberg has declared his support for Hillary Clinton's 2008 presidency campaign. The director is backing Clinton because he believes she is best suited for the top job at the White House and will bring America 'back together.' He says, 'I've taken the time to familiarize myself with the impressive field of Democratic candidates and am convinced that Hillary Clinton is the most qualified candidate to lead us from her first day in the White House.'" "It's a castle fit for a king (of all media). Now that construction on Howard Stern's palatial Southampton spread is moving along at a good clip, it may be time for his buddies to call dibs on his numerous guest rooms. According to plans filed with the town, the three-level custom-built oceanfront mansion measures just over 16,000 square feet, with eight bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, a great room, a media room (natch), an attached cabana, a bowling alley and a wine cellar with a tasting room."
