Jodie Foster: 'I do a lot of the movies where I'm the guy'

Frankly, The Corsair is a fan of Jodie Foster. We've been a fan ever since she played the saucy goomar "Tallulah" in the classic kid flick Bugsy Malone. Sure, Anna and the King was a stinker. We're rooting for the powers-that-be to cast her as a credible romantic lead. That having been said, very few actors radiate raw intellectual firepower like Foster. Jodie Foster strikes us as the type of person who would be competent to discuss her favorite passages of Gargantua and Pantagruel in French.
Lately, Jodie Foster -- for whatever reason -- has come out of her ultraprivate shell. She's talking to the press about all sorts of things that would have been off limits when, well ... when her career was red-hott. Like this, from Moviehole:
"Foster does have a role in the new Spike Lee film 'Inside Man,' about which she is excited. 'It was kind of a different experience in that he shot in a way he never has. He kind of just put three cameras on and just kind of let it go and printed the first three takes and was shot in something like less than forty days. So it kind of has a different feeling than most films and a much more messy feeling. But it's Denzel Washington. I do a lot of the movies where I'm the guy. I'm the one on the top and then I deal with people who come in and out and it was so great to work with Denzel."
Hmm. She's the guy? And we always thought Clarice Starling was in possession of a "coochie."

Amen.
p.s. only here can I come and find a post referencing both Spike Lee and Gargantua and Pantagruel. Damned brilliant.
