The Bob Woodward Nuclear Meltdown: T- Minus 6 Days

Shhhhhhhhhh. Listen. No, no, listen carefully, grasshopper. Can't you hear the sound of papers rustling in the Nation's capitol? Can you feel the intensity of the nervousness? That, dear reader, is the hullaballoo right before Bob Woodward makes his appearance on 60 Minutes next week and flips the fucking scrip.

The furor on the right is massive. Only six more episodes remain before Don Hewett goes back to Martha's Vinyard and hands off the mothership to the Tiffany Network. And you can tell, can't you?

Hewett is going after the Bushies like nothing I've ever seen before. His "fuck you" attitude is written all over the last 5 broadcasts. Even Howard Stern's rants seem flaccid in comparison to the sharpness of 60 Minutes' anti-Bush editorial stance. Lefties, rejoice.

And so in DC the Woodward game is strong. Actually, the anti-Bush publishing industry is strong in general. And these developments come amid the whispers of "who leaked to Robert Novak"?

Novak, nicknamed 'The Prince of Darkness' for his overall demeanor and his column, which traps all the best leaks on K-Street like a spiderweb, declined to speak of the matter at Harvard.

But this week the buzz will intensify incrementally, as the April 30 pub date approaches and we hopefully find out just WHO leaked.
