David Allen Grier's Bucolic Detroit Childhood

Sociologist Andrew Hacker would find wispy David Allen Grier's background particularly fertile territory to launch an inquiry. Grier was on Howard Stern last week, chatting up his Comedy central show. From Marksfriggin:

"David talked about growing up in Detroit. Howard said that it was the opposite for him out in Roosevelt, Long Island and shared some of his childhood stories. David said that he wasn't allowed to play with the white boys when he was growing up because they were too rough. He said that they were hard ass white people living in Detroit.

"Howard said that he asked Sarah Silverman yesterday about being on Comedy Central and how they pay no money. He asked her why she does it and she told him that she gets to do what she wants and her value goes up. He asked David if he's making any money there. David said that he's making some money and he just wanted to do a great show."

We cannot fail to note that Detroit is the home of one of the most cold-blooded African-Americans walking the earth -- Eminem.
