"Maggie Gyllenhaal and Liv Tyler chatted about their children in one corner of The Loft & Garden at Rockefeller Center, while live models displayed bling in another. DJ Paul Sevigny provided the upbeat soundtrack." (Fashionweekdaily)

"A few weeks ago in Houston President Bush -- not wholly irrelevant yet, alas -- said with regards to the embattled American economy, 'Wall Street got drunk -- that's one of the reasons I asked you to turn off the TV cameras -- it got drunk and now it's got a hangover.' He wasn't far off the mark. The Ancient Greeks had a complicated word, 'Thumos,' which referred to the aggressive-ambitious part of the soul or psyche. Twentysomethings right out of college and on the make, for example, have loads of Thumos. So does Wall Street." (Kenneth Cole's AWEARNESS)

"I get email invites all day long, brag brag, but this screening notice for Forever Strong got me particularly wet in the knickers. I'm not always a fan of Sean Penn—he can be rather hambone and obnoxious, even on screen--but his being in a project generally makes it major, something worth missing Golden Girls for. Alas, the Oscar winner isn't in this film even though the weird typography of the invite strongly (and inadvertently) suggests he is. It turns out you shouldn't read it from left to right the way you would do with anything normal. Instead, soak it in up and down, your eyes making parallel lines, and you'll realize it's actually Sean Faris who's in this thing." (Musto)
