Air America Expands Online Strategy

Bill Hess, the Senior VP of Programming for Air America is in Denver, like just about everyone else in the media bubble. The Corsair asked Hess via email yesterday about the liberal radio network's coverage, especially their "Authors Turning the Page: Ideas on Election 2008" panels and the expanded role of video in their online strategy.

The Corsair: "Authors Turning the Page: Ideas on Election 2008" is a unique forum combining new authors with on-air content. Who came up with the idea?

Bill Hess: The authors' panel was conceived and coordinated by Air America president Mark Green.

The Corsair: Sam Seder is going to host three panels that will be webcast live on www.airamerica.com. Is this the beginning of more robust AirAmerica.com video content?

Bill Hess: The work being done by Sam Seder is most definitely the beginning of a much expanded strategy involving online video by air America. [As an aside, they recently webcast an interview that Sam did with former Gov. Don Siegelman from the Netroots Nation Conference in July, The Young Turks show streams online daily from 9-11pm on the site and "Today on Air America" is a daily, live video featuring the daily program schedule, guest line-up, etc.]
