Howard Stern Joins Twitter

Howard Stern, the self-proclaimed "King of all Media," is a little late to the party, but he will be welcomed nonetheless. From IconvsIcon:

"With social-networking on the rise, it isn’t surprising to see one of the biggest names on the pop culture landscape embrace the phenomenon. This morning on The Howard Stern Show, it was revealed that The King of All Media and his dedicated staff have launched an online presence on Twitter. The plan is to give followers a look at what is going on behind the scenes of the wildly popular show, which is broadcast on Sirius Satellite Radio.

"The Twitter account will surely add another interesting facet to the Stern Universe and provide some on-air laughs. Fans can most likely expect some 'online appearances' from the likes of Stern Show favorites Robin Quivers, Artie Lange, Gary Dell’Abate, Benjy Bronk, Salvatore Governale and Richard Christy.

"You can start following the Howard Stern Show by going to www.twitter.com/sternshow"

As of post time Stern has 8,798 Followers and 19 updates. Actually, it is kind of amazing that Stern has such a small number of followers on Twitter, and it may say something about his declining influence. If, as Howard claims, he has over 6 million-plus listeners, then wouldn't some of that translate on Twitter?
