The Long, Strange Odyssey of The New World

"The New World" is shaping to be one of the strangest movies ever filmed. After "Cock out Colin" Farrell had to re-shoot love scenes with a 15-year old German actress because, according to the Sydney Morning Herald, "Hollywood lawyers feared the footage breaks American child pornography laws." (Averted Gaze) Now, according to the 3AM Girls, the film's director, who executive produced Shackleton's Legendary Antarctic Expedition, has ... eccentric methods of building a scene:
"Hollywood newcomer Q'Orianka Kilcher, who plays Pocahontas opposite Farrell in his new film, The New World, was terrified she'd faint when she first met him.
"In a bizarre tactic by the movie's maverick director Terrence Malick, the 15-year-old actress was banned from seeing Colin, 29, before filming because he wanted to capture their first encounter on film.
"She explains: 'I was worried that Malick's plan would backfire once we did meet - by me fainting.'"
