The Future Of Publishing Panel Tomorrow At Cooper Union

Media heavyweights and movers and shakers will be at Cooper Union tomorrow mulling over the future of publishing. The Corsair's friend Sue Shapiro is moderating The Future of Publishing panel at Cooper Union on Wednesday (Sept. 10 at 7 p.m.). The panel includes:

-- JIM ROBERTS is the editor of digital news at the New York Times who manages the newsroom of NYTimes.com

-- JULIA TURNER is deputy editor of Slate

--ROBERT S. MILLER is president of HarperStudio, a new imprint of HarperCollins Publishers that will publish books in digital formats with internet-based strategies.

-- AYESHA PANDE is an agent at Collins Literary, a boutique New York agency handling African-American, women’s, international, literary and popular fiction, as well as biography, history and pop culture.

-- JOHN C. ABELL is the NYC Bureau chief for Wired Digital.

-- ALEX CLARK is the editor in chief of Granta and a judge of this year’s Booker Prize.

-- RADHIKA JONES is senior arts editor at Time magazine and Time.com

The panel takes place tomorrow, Wednesday September 10 7-9 pm at Cooper Union 7 E. 7th Street NYC. The cost of the event is $20 at the door ($15 for students), All the proceeds for the panel go to PEN American Center's Emergency Writers' Fund and the Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen Writers Workshop.
