Is The Bill Richardson-Clinton Feud Thawing?

(image via nymag)

Although this story is a week old, we just heard that New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson -- who we originally endorsed for President -- is holding a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton. That's actually kind of big news, considering the acrimony. When last we peeked in with the Clintons, they were still angry at the way Richardson endorsed Obama without any heads-up. Bill Clinton had courted Richardson hard (They watched foorball together and hung out). It came to naught. From Chron.com:

"New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson will hold two fundraisers to help Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton pay off her presidential campaign debt.

"Richardson, who was U.N. ambassador and energy secretary under former President Clinton, drew heat from some of the former first lady's supporters when he endorsed her rival Barack Obama in March during the Democratic presidential primaries. Strategist James Carville compared Richardson to Judas.

"A spokesman for the governor said the fundraisers are part of the Democratic Party's effort to unify after the hard-fought primary."

And if the chill is thawing does that mean Bill Richardson wouldn't be blocked as a Veep choice for Obama? Or a possible Secretary of State?
