The Corsair met Dominick Dunne maybe six months ago at Michael's. Our favorite chronicler David Patrick Columbia of NYSocialDiary introduced us. We told him our name and exchanged brief pleasantries. Afterwards, DPC told us, "He can't hear well, I don't think he heard you." It seemed strange to imagine someone so indefatigable in search of the crimes of the privileged as Dominick Dunne aging. But aging he was.

Liz Smith writes today:
