Is Warren Buffet Michael Wolff's Mystery Billionaire?

Remember when Michael Wolff in his Vanity Fair article postulated that some mystery billionaire that was "larger than life" might be interested in buying up newspapers? Of course you don't. That's what we're here for. From the NYPost:

"New York Times shares surged as much as 7 percent yesterday fueled by speculation that Warren Buffett might start snapping up shares of the beleaguered newspaper giant.

"Rumors of the Oracle of Omaha's possible interest in the Times and other downtrodden stocks of newspaper companies tore through trading floors yesterday and spurred a buying frenzy in the options market.

"A spokeswoman for Buffett, whose Berkshire Hathaway owns the Buffalo News newspaper and an 18 percent take in the Washington Post, declined to comment.

"New York Times spokeswoman Catherine Mathis didn't respond to a request for comment."
