Day 5: Fashion Week Wrap-Up

From Fashionweekdaily:
"Deschanel crooned "Dream a Little Dream of Me," Erin Fetherston sent a sweet and lowdown little collection down her silver, star-spangled runway. As dreamily girlish as they were wearable, Fetherston's uber-flattering frocks in celestial whites and moondust greys featured defined waists before floating out and finishing with a single flirty ruffle. Black, gently spangled mini dresses, meanwhile, were fluid as the night sky. And and for demurely divine, goddess-like evening gowns that closed the show, we'll be dreaming 'til they hit stores for sure."
From Lookonline:
"Marc Jacobs waved his magic wand (one hour and 15 minutes past 9) and decreed that it’s time to get back to an elegant refinement. Wave good-bye to leggings, baby dolls, minis, balloon hems, wedges, anything tricky, tacky, and gimmicky.
"... How many other designers could get people out on a freezing cold Monday evening, and nobody would leave even after waiting more than one hour? And how many designers are so revered, respected and influential that no matter what they showed, people would find something valuable and worthwhile, if not fabulous within it?"
Kate schelter speaks to Amy Larocca. From NYMag
From one of The Corsair's favorite people, the amazing, Scorpionic Kim Hastreiter at papermag:
"Today I fell HARD for Isaac Mizrahi's collection shown this morning in his huge midtown studio on 10th Avenue. It wasn't a huge collection but it was SO gorgeous, chic, crisp, glamorous, charming, modern, playful and flawless. He is so true to his creative vision -- smart, inventive and SO American. I adored how he took a fluorescent orange and paled it out. I adore how his glamorous evening dresses all have pockets. I loved his furry "poodle" ankle boots. I adored his to die for big winter silk floral prints that he scribbled over ... He is SUCH a great American talent. Between Isaac and Isabel Toledo designing the Ann Klein collection this season, American fashion is making a true comeback. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one screaming for this kind of stuff... mostly because it's not necessarily trendy. I feel the same way about Isabel Toledo's work. These genius American designers are treated like shit by the fashion world who should be respecting them as treasures."
and, finally, from our favorite social chronicler, David Patrick Columbia, from NYSocialDiary:
"So what I missed was the media melee that occurs along the northernmost aisle (there are two – a U-shape). That’s where the visiting celebrities are seated along with the fashion press. Glenda Bailey from Harpers Bazaar. The brilliant Cathy Horyn of the New York Times. That’s where Anna Wintour sits, often with Andre Leon Talley. She’s a little-bit-of-a-thing and he is this big, big guy, huge; and so it’s something to see. It’s a movie. All that personality and even so much more attributed to it (hers especially).
"... Also across the aisle are the young women of 21st century society in New York today. Not all, of course, but some. Many of those with the public profiles. Tory Burch who now has her own little fashion empire in the world of the Nouvelles Garmenteux was. And the Lauder sisters, Marina Rust Connor, Lauren DuPont, Jennifer Creel and many others. On my side were the older girls with some of their boys. Kenny Lane behind me. Robert Janjigian of the Palm Beach Daily News with Audrey Gruss. Mrs. de la Renta sits on this side, and always a few rows up to keep out of the client’s view."
