Is This The End of VH1 Classic?

Eddie Trunk: Digital Killed the Video Star. (image via myspace)

What will we do without our weekly dose of Eddie Trunk, last of a dying breed of Long Island heavy metal fans, who seemingly does every show and trhen some at VH1 Classic (Whom, we hope, is not getting paid standard VH1 money; no offense, guys, I'm just saying...). Digital may have killed the video star just as, a generation or so previous, video killed the radio star. Shakespeare -- in his Histories -- was so right about the sanguinary nature of generational battle. According to Gawker:

"This just in:

"'I work for VH1, and half of our floor belongs to VH1 Classic. The entire VH1 Classic department just got axed.'"

Sweet jesus ... Noooooooooo. Where will we turn when, hungover on a Sunday morning, we have a need for an old "Color Me Badd Video" to remind us that as bad as we feel, there is still something more evil than our dehydration. Or, better yet, where will we go to hear "Rico y Suave ('I'm used to good ol' fashioned
Homestyle Spanish cooking/ If i try that I'll be puking')"

Oh yeah, YouTube on both counts, cornbread. Forget we said anything. It's all good.
