Media-Whore D'Oevres

"Meanwhile back at Michael’s where I had lunch with second generation advice columnist Margo Howard (Dear Prudence), daughter of Eppie Lederer (Dear Ann Landers). Michael’s had its fair share of interesting tables but the one that caught my eyes were three women and a man in the bay. The three women were Maria (Mrs. Nat King) Cole, and her twin daughters Timolin and Casey Cole. Nat King Cole died young – forty-six or forty-eight – in 1965 (from cancer). Maria Cole married the recording star sixty years ago this year .. Also at Michael’s: Andrew Lloyd Webber who told me he was in New York working on his next big show which will be a sequel to 'Phantom ...' .. Vernon Jordan and Chrystia Freedland who is the American editor for the Financial Times." (NYSocialDiary)

"André Leon Talley in a black suit just spotted near the fountain ... Looks like Thomas Onorato of MisShapes doing crowd control in the tent. Strange" (Racked)

"Last night, the always anticipated Marc Jacobs show did not disappoint. The poor photographers piled high -- on top of ladders, crates and each other -- almost succombed to cardiac arrest when this week's Fashion Week It Couple J. Lo and Victoria Beckham sashayed into the ever-so-chic Armory. The impossibly perfect clothes on a spectacular 'hall of mirrors' catwalk were not for the faint of heart either! The big drama of the evening? Jay-Z and Kanye West arrived too late to be seated." (Papermag)

"Not many editors get to play Santa Claus during Fashion Week, but Michael Roberts did just that as he happily signed the copies of his story The Good Shepherd, shot and conceived for Dolce & Gabbana. Socials, editors like Grace Coddington and Hamish Bowles, and beautiful starlets took their turns for few minutes with Michael and his golden magic marker at the company's Madison Avenue temple. 'Half naked and men and sheep!' laughed Becki Newton as she glanced at her copy for the first time. "Hmmm... Being married to a Greek, somehow it all seems familiar to me.' Zoe Saldana, meanwhile, claimed a special connection with Roberts: 'Michael, along with Annie, convinced me to wear a basing suit on the cover of Vanity Fair,' she recollected. 'You normally think twice about doing something like that on a huge cover, but you can't say no to Michael.'" (Fashionweekdaily)
