Fashion Week Roundup, Part The Fifth

"When Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld, the son to Carine and brother to Julia, has a gallery opening showing off the works of three photographers, you know it's guaranteed to be a scene. Guests packed the huge Collective Hardware space from front-to-back. Present in the crush were both Hilton sisters, Erin Wasson, Jamie Burke, Alexander Wang, Lily Donaldson, Lara Stone, Alexandra and Theodora Richards, and of course, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld." (Refinery29)

"Indochine looked like Bungalow 8 last night during the Roitfelds' raucous party where guests danced on banquettes." (WWD)

"Someone still has money. Versace boutique on 5th Ave selling out big, gorgeous purple leather handbags with gold chains for $4000 a pop." (Bonnie Fuller/Twitter)

"Every seat at Nanette Lepore had a postcard adressed to Mayor Bloomberg demanding to ’save the garment center" and promote made in the USA clothing." (MYItThings)

"Actress and comedienne Aisha Tyler took in the Max Azria show Tuesday evening looking cheerful in yellow silk. She talked to Glam Chic about how Fashion Week has been shaping up for her so far. 'It’s been a really pleasant Fashion Week for me this year,' she said. 'Last year was so exciting, and I love the designers and want to support them, but I just did too many shows. This year I thought would be more relaxing, but I still have been up by 5 in the morning every day. So it’s a surprise that I haven’t collapsed!'" (GlamMedia)

"Oscar started very promptly, many were left scrambling for seats - such as Barbara Bush who slipped into her seat after a few looks." (WWD)

"Anna smiled at end of Oscar - she even seemed to be laughing a little bit? Maybe at Barbara Bush, who's there w/ Blasberg as her date." (TheCut)

"Where are all the celebs at Kors? Where's Heidi? Do the bonds forged by Project Runway mean nothing anymore? ... WHEW. Heidi has arrived. Our faith in humanity has been restored." (Racked/Twitter)

"Show location: The Tent at Bryant Park. The skinny: Max Azria's signature collection usually brings out the starlets along with great cocktail dresses; this time, not so much in either department. Celebs spotted: Egh. We are underwhelmed with Whitney Port and Mark Indelicato of Ugly Betty as the only two semi-celebs spotted. If Nastia Liukin was here, we sure didn't see enough flashbulbs to confirm it." (Racked)

"Kimora Lee Simmons was reportedly to show a more subdued collection this season. But then Queen Kimora packed her attendees into one of New York's most eye-popping places: Gotham Hall, an event space housed in a former 1920s bank boasting a soaring domed ceiling and gilded Corinthian columns. (This is a woman who's owned a gilded toilet, after all.) Recession be darned: Baby Phat's press materials declared the collection synonymous with 'extravangance ... arouse your inner mogul with a dose of fabulousness.' The invite was modeled after a black evening clutch, complete with rhinestone clasp the size of a locust .. Simmons -- looking mighty round in the belly, as per the rampant pregnancy rumors -- sashayed out with daughters Ming and Aoki. Feeling all the fabulosity from the front row were a motley crew of pink-haired stylist and designer Pat Field, pink-dressed socialite Tinsley Mortimer and barely dressed Playboy playmate Coco, who sat next to her relatively buttoned-up husband, Ice-T." (USAToday)

"The hair at Oscar de la Renta is huge! So big, in fact, it makes Suzy Menkes's signature coif look tiny." (WWD)

"At the opening of the Armani store on Fifth Avenue last night, PETA protesters in bunny suits brandished their megaphones, but they were no match for the throngs of fans shrieking when Leonardo DiCaprio or Victoria Beckham power-walked the red carpet. But inside the crowded spaceshiplike store, everyone look bored and uncomfortable. The winding white staircases looked like something out of Space Mountain; climbing them required shoving and desperate clutching of the rails. (We spotted Olivia Palermo and Nina Garcia hanging on for dear life on their way down.)" (NYMag)

"Marc Jacobs is front row at Victorinox for Pierre Henri Mattout's debut show." (TheMoment)

"PAPER's own Kim Hastreiter hosted a fun-filled dinner at her home for Diesel daddy Renzo Rosso. Rosso founded Diesel and also presides over a growing stable of designer labels like Margiela, Viktor & Rolf, DSquared and Sophia Kokasalaki. It was an eclectic bunch of cuties from the fashion, music, art and action sports world. Guests included Michael Stipe, Scissor Sisters' Jake Shears and Anamatronic, Moby, Sarah from Colette, Elise Overland, Threeasfour, Sarah Sophie Flicker, Melissa Auf Der Maur, the Cobrasnake, The Selby, Patricia Field and Pat Tenore from RVCA."
