Sony/ Paper Party Last Night

(ThreeAsFour via guestofaguest)

We went to last night's Paper party in -- ?! -- Midtown. We tend not to go beyond 14th, but it was Paper. The booze flowed freely and well-past 11 pm, but the security guards at SONY's flagship store were ridiculous, snugly observing every nook and cranny, obnoxiously sober. One wonders what went through the heads at SONY Management ("Those damned lawless hipsters, they'll probably rob the store blind. But we need them. Post a dozen off-duty police and security guards to give them the stink eye.").

And so it goes. The DJ was fashion designer Benjamin Cho, who did a damn good job with the 80s New Wave. ThreeAsFour were there, hanging out in the back, loving the hors d'oeuvres, which tend to be a minor art form at Paper parties. The awesome and wonderful Kim Hastreiter was looking brilliant, queenly, as hipster courtiers rolled up to the couch to kiss her ring. We hugged Mr. Mickey, whom we haven't seen since the mid-90s, when The Corsair worked on Paper's website as an Associate Editor.

Also seen: Michael Musto, VF's George "GW" Wayne, Richie Rich, Cushnie et Ochs, Cory Kennedy and a sexy writer in a little black dress named Liza who said we have a "sweet demeanor" (call us?).
