Although Nadav Kandar already shot "Obama's People" -- his incoming administration for the New York Times magazine, for the latest Vanity Fair transgressive shutterbug Annie Leibovitz has her own take as Maureen Orth, wife of the late Tim Russert, interviews the team. From the press release:
"The photos were taken between January 15 and January 21—a time when, as everyone knows, the subjects were awfully busy. Hillary Clinton came directly from being sworn in as secretary of state, and the economic team gave Leibovitz only a couple of minutes before racing off to their next meeting. Understandably, the new president was unable to sit for a portrait. Fortunately though, Obama had sat for Leibovitz in early 2007 for V.F.’s Africa issue, shortly after announcing his candidacy. We may not have been the only ones who had a hunch at that time...."
