Editor/ Restaurateur Graydon Carter, who produced Robert Evans' cautionary Hollywood story The Kid Stays In The Picture, is a font of insider gossip. He let some of that massive knowledge drop at the height of his social year, the VF Oscar party. From Cindy Adams:
"Vanity Fair should work for the Palomar Observatory. Nobody locks onto stars like they can. At their party, a clutch surrounding editor Graydon Carter discussed Woody Allen never collecting any of his wins and that the academy's keeping them in storage should he change his mind since he never rejected them technically. Woody recently said: 'When you see who wins or doesn't win, you see how meaningless this Oscar thing is.'"
