Rebecca Turbow Fashion Show
The Corsair went to the Rebecca Turbow fashion show at Moller Snow Gallery and the afterparty in Chinatown yesterday night. Interesting set up and a crowd that included Cory Kennedy of TheCobrasnake, who took our picture (If only she knew how we mercilessly taunt that site). The palette was restrained -- predominately grays, some white, some black. Almost monochromatic; the downtown hipster's Fall vocabulary. An interesting note: the models, instead of the traditional runway catwalk accompanied by The Rolling Stones, mingled nonchalantly with the artwork at the back of the gallery against the walls. The effect was quite bohemian, dismantling the "barrier" between the models and fashion editors/writers/industry types. Some of the models actually cracked smiles at the strangeness of the situation and spoke a few words:
