Fashion Week Roundup, Part II
"Eagle-eyed fashion folk hitting the Bryant Park tents on Friday for the first full day of shows had a surprise in store. Instead of the usual mix of A-list celebrities and TV stars there was another face in the front row of Yigal Azrouel's show this morning: Ashley Dupre, of Eliot Spitzer fame. Of course, many in the crowd, including the Brit socialites Poppy Delevigne and Sophia Hesketh sitting just three seats down the row, showed no indication of recognizing her. Nor did the many paparazzi who prowl the outside of the tents and the catwalk. 'We snuck in' to the tents, said the soft spoken Dupre, explaining that no one had bothered her. She had her manager, Charles Suitt, in tow and said that PR honcho Kelly Cutrone had invited her. 'I'm here to see Yigal, I'm really excited,' she said of the show, though it was not her first-ever fashion show experience. She'll also be attending the IMG party, said Dupre, who was clad in leather pants, towering sandals and a red jacket with her hair demurely parted on one side." (WWD)
"2:56pm: Barbie has caused the entire population of the tents to go collectively insane. We're waiting in a massive crowd of frantic, shoving people, all packed shoulder-to-shoulder—or nose-to-kneecap, in the case of the many small girls in the crowd. 3:05pm: Jennifer Love Hewitt comes down the stairs from the show tents looking teeny. 3:10pm: Julia Allison is here cornering little girls and asking them about Barbie. She's wearing a red tutu." (Racked)
"Chelsea saw more than its usual quota of beautiful people Thursday night when photographer and model-launcher Paul Rowland's exhibition Transformations opened with a cocktail party. The solo show drew poseurs like Hanne Gaby Odiele, Natasha Poly, Kasia Struss, and Julia Dunstall, along with designers Kate Mulleavy and Richard Chai, and lensman Craig McDean. We'll take it as a testament to Rowland's work that the model-to-photographer ratio was easily ten to one." (Style)
"Heidi Klum: sitting next to me.. Daughter Leilah meets her. So excited- a big Project Runway fan. Heidi totally sweet. Cute new short do ... Just learned that HuffPost has created a Big News page on Obama PDA + I'm their authoritative presidential PDA expert.. That's an honor!" (BonnieFuller/Twitter)
