A Little Of The Old In And Out

In: Camp Allen. It's all about Sun Valley, where the global center of media power shifts, ever-so-slightly, each July. From the formerly glorious Mike Ovitz -- sporting a burgundy t-shirt -- to venture capitalist Aviv "Vivo" Nevi making quite the entrance with his girlfriend, the effervescent actress Zang Ziyi. From DeadlineHollywoodDaily:

"The 26th annual Allen & Co investor conference for monied moguls in Sun Valley, Idaho, hosted by Herbert Allen Jr really kept an unprecedented lid on the identities of the speakers and panelists this year .. As for Hollywood, Jeff Katzenberg of DreamWorks Animation and Intel's Paul Otellini will make a joint presentation inside the Opera House (so expect a sophisticated dog-and-pony show about the much heralded 4D technology...). Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Amazon's Jeff Bezos, round out the list of presenters."

Out: Pete Doherty. The filthy former rentboy, drug dealer, Babyshambles lead singer Pete Doherty is trying to get supermodel Kate Moss back. Clearly this is not going to happen, but Pete has yet to get the memo that Kate finally washed all of Doherty's loserdust out of her hair. From the 3AMGirls:

"In his addled mind Pete believes that he and the stunningly successful model are the perfect couple - and texted her to tell her so.

"And we're told it was these latenight love texts that drove The Kills frontman Jamie over the edge.

"So far Kate's managed to control the desire to run back to the arms of the filthy-fingernailed one. But his pitiful pleadings are relentless.

"..A source said: 'Jamie was furious when Pete got in touch about a week ago. And over the last three nights he and Kate have texted each other until the early hours.

"'Pete's been showing the texts to mates and thinks he is on the verge of winning her back but his mates aren't convinced.'"

In: The Wackness. Come on, you know you want to see this even if only for the morbid curiosity of watching the steamy make out scenes between Mary-Kate and -- eew -- Sir Ben Kingsley. From Indiewire:

"Filmmaker Jonathan Levine enjoyed sophomore success thanks to a sky-high response to his '90s nostalgia tale 'The Wackness.' Featuring Josh Peck as a high school grad and Ben Kingsley as his crazy Manhattan psychiatrist, 'Wackness' earned $172,179 for Sony Pictures Classics from six debut runs since opening July 3."
