According to the extremely downmarket Newsoftheworld, uneven British director Guy Ritchie is getting approximately $46.7 million, not, as was previously reported, nothing, from his ex-wife Madonna in the divorce settlement. According to the story, Madonna was upset that reports were spun in the direction that the celebrated laddie, who liked to hoist a pint with the guys in the pub, was walking away from a large "Mr. Madonna" settlement. How odd that Madonna, however, briefly, was played in the media spin game by a somewhat successful Brit director. Some of her savvy must have rubbed off. From Newsoftheworld:
"MADONNA is handing Guy Ritchie a ($46.7 Million) divorce pay-off, the News of the World can reveal. A CASH sum of ($17.5 million) will land in the Brit’s bank account in the next few days.
"And the 40-year-old film director will also be given the keys to the pop queen’s ($29.2 million) Ashcombe House COUNTRY ESTATE in Wiltshire. Guy will keep his ($4.2 million) Punchbowl pub but has signed away any claims on the superstar’s ($438 million) business fortune. And Madge, 50, demanded she KEEP their huge marital home in Marylebone, London.

While $47 large is not nothing, it is a far cry from the 50% of Madonna's estimated $438 million fortune -- ! -- that he may have been entitled to under divorce laws by Britain's High Court. More here.
