"1/21 — Apocalypse now - COURTNEY LOVE and BEN SILVERMAN (TOGETHER), stumbling out of Giorgio Baldi on Wednesday night. Someone needs to explain this right now." (Defamer)

"Howard (Stern) asked Joan (Rivers) why she thinks so many people fell for that Bernie Madoff's Ponzi scheme. Joan said she thinks that whole thing is hilarious. She pictures him saying 'Hellu Hellu, give me your money.' Howard asked Joan about all of the people she knows that fell for the Madoff pitch. Joan said that she never fell for it herself. She said that everyone that got ripped off are all upset that they have very little money left. She said that it's really breaking their hearts. Howard said that it is a terrible thing that he ripped off charities and all of these people. Howard said that Joan is a terrible person and she was even making fun of him at his own wedding. Joan said that she had a good time there with Robin. Howard said that Joan went to the 60th birthday party for Prince Charles. Howard asked who else was there. Joan said that there was a lot of royalty there." (Marksfriggin)

"This morning, at 8:30am, as everyone was buzzing about the Oscar nominations, I went to see Chris Rock’s hilarious documentary Good Hair. 'Utah has been very good to me,' Rock tells me. 'At first Sundance scared me because it’s so white and this movie is about black girls’ hair. I thought originally Cannes would be a better venue because the film also has a gay esthetic, but it’s been amazing here, just amazing.' Indeed Rock has had a very good Sundance. His reviews have been solid and his focus now is to convince HBO to give the film a theatrical release." (VanityFair)

"Tony Tan, a Singapore-based astrologer, is urging investors heading into the ‘Year of the Ox’ to emulate the beast that lends its name to the lunar new year -- be patient and deliberate. Concerns about the global economy that pummeled Asian stocks in 2008 will persist, causing the MSCI Asia Pacific Index to extend last year’s record 43 percent slump, according to astrologers including Tan, who founded the Harmony Academy of Chinese Metaphysics in 1995. Just like the ox, 'investors should be patient and position for a potential market upturn in 2010,' said Tan, a former broker at the securities arm of DBS Group Holdings Ltd. He predicted correctly last year that markets would peak and investors will suffer losses." (Bloomberg)

"It's 'Ab Fab' time at Fox.The network has handed a pilot pickup to 'Absolutely Fabulous,' an U.S. version of the cult British comedy about a neurotic fashion publicist, Edina, and her best friend Patsy, an outrageous fashion editor, who drive Eddie's sensible teen daughter, Saffron, up the wall with their wild behavior. Christine Zander penned the set in Los Angeles adaptation, which is produced by Sony Pictures TV, BBC Worldwide Prods. and Tantamount." (TheHollywoodReporter)

"If you've noticed an influx of Aussies in New York lately, there's a reason--it's G'Day USA, or Australia Week, in the city, and the chicest of Oz came out to Donna Karan's Urban Zen to celebrate last night. '[Australia's] magical because there's soul, there's spirit, it's sexy, it's got everything that one could want," said Karan, who was hosting the opening night of Nomad Two Worlds, a multimedia exhibit by artist Russell James and more than one Aboriginal co-artist. The packed space housed the likes of co-host Hugh Jackman, as well as his wife Deborrah, Martha Stewart, Iman, and Nicole Miller, along with crowds of guests who drank cocktails and Australian wine and beer. 'Your toes must be cold!' exclaimed Anna Wintour upon meeting the flip-flop-sporting James; she and Shelby Bryan caught up with Karan and the artist and chatted for a while before entering the exhibition space."
