Can Biden speak to Joe-Sixpack, the demographic that Obama has had trouble holding? Can Joe Biden speak to the blue-collar voter in Pennsyltucky? Can Joe Biden speak to the family in Ohio struggling to pay for groceries? The West Virginia voter in mortgage foreclosure? The Kentucky coal miner? These are traditional democratic constituencies that have not thus far coalesced behind the more cerebral Obama, who attracts the young and idealistic set. From ABCNews:
"ABC News' Lisa Chinn Reports: As a small media circus congregates at the driveway to the family home of Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., a collection of Biden relatives, staff, security and supporters have driven past in last 24 hours.
"While Sen. Evan Bayh, D-Ind., sits in his Washington, D.C. home and Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine toils away at his day job, Biden, in the middle of the Senate's August recess, enjoyed a dinner out with his mother and son Beau, and visited with his brother.
"Long a supporter of law enforcement, he is also enjoying the luxury of county police making the rounds here as well. Staffers and supporters have dropped by, too. Presumably, all these folks are giving the notoriously loquacious Biden someone to talk to - because he's sure not talking to reporters."
