That Impish Giuliani
How we loathe this rat bastard.
It more than irks this blogger that Rudy Giuliani is still being talked about. The man is pure and simple political scum. Those who have followed this blog over the years know the sheer joy -- the sheer "SchadenfRudy" -- expressed in chronicling the flame out in the 2008 race. Ooh la-la (low whistle), to hear of Rudy Giuliani's campaign being "shaken." You cannot imagine the bliss.
What is it about Giuliani? His fucking pedestrian sense of Art? His fundamental dislike of African-Americans? The fact that Giuliani is adept at subtly injecting race into his campaigns ("comm-YEW-nity organizer")? His contempt for the Fourth Estate? The fact that his own daughter supported his political enemy? His laughable attempt at elucidating a foreign policy (And the fact that Joe Biden called him on his bullshit)?
As a New Yorker who has actually had to live under a Rudiani administration, his continued political existence rankles. Is he even running? Has he even thrown his hat in the ring? The NYPost's Cindy Adams, who knows her Upper East Side Republican gossip (and, quite frankly, her authoritarian gnomes), has all but hinted that that Giuliani will probably chicken out (as he did against Hillary Clinton), and instead use the opportunity to highlight his ailing, recession-battered business, Giuliani Partners.
If he does run, this will continue his creepy karma with African-American firsts. Rudiani stalked David Dinkins, the first African-American Mayor of New York, after his defeat, essentially running a 4-year continuous campaign against The Dink. Dinkins, a weak Mayor to be sure, essentially had to run against the disgustingly ambitious Rudiani his entire mayoralty. There was never a grace period. If he does run, he will be running against the first African-American Governor of NYS, putting him in line to run against the first African-American President of the United States.
Creepy karma, no?
