Media-Whore's D'Oevres

"This December, HBO in the U.S. will broadcast Sand and Sorrow, a documentary about the crisis in Darfur from Paul Freedman and narrated by George Clooney.'The tragic events taking place in Darfur unfortunately are a continuation of the lack of response from the international community in protecting millions of innocent lives from their own government,' Freedman said. 'Without humanitarian aid and political resolve from the U.S. and other countries, these displaced people from Darfur could suffer the same fate as those innocents from Eastern Europe, Cambodia and Rwanda.'" "(Howard Stern and Beth O)Just walked by me, holding hands, en route to the Southampton Movie Theater. They’re really cute - who woulda thought! In general, though, when are we going to get some new famous mugs around here? If I see one more Page Six sighting with Kelly Ripa or Cynthia Rowley (as gorgeous of a cover Hampton Style is) I might have to move to Malibu. In other celebrity news, Al Franken has cancelled his dinner party at Jay McInerney’s this upcoming weekend because of the bridge catastrophe, an excuse all Hampton-ites will understand. And, watch out for Victoria’s Secret models on the loose — there are events for our favorite scantily-clad all weekend long, starting with a 'Secret Garden' party at The Estate." (BlogHamptons)

"It may have taken more than a decade, but Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen's DreamWorks finally leads in market share and is weeks away from crossing the $1 billion mark at the domestic box office. DreamWorks and DreamWorks Animation can't officially claim the crown, however, since they are no longer a single entity. Paramount officially distributes both their pictures." (Variety)
