Comedy Central's "Indecision: 2008" Up 60% In The 18-49 Demographic

The networks -- CBS, NBC, ABC -- are probably wondering where that sweet spot demographic went. Who ate their cheese? Why are their ratings so anemic? And, most importantly, Why are they running commercials that list dangerous side effects for pharmaceuticals that suggests not the frsh bloom of youthful vigor, but the savage democracy of The Grim Reaper's inevitable Scyth (Exaggerated cough suggesting feigned detachment). Aside from the cablers, "Indecision: 2008," hosted by Steven Colbert and Jon Stewart and presented with a dash of irony also helped themselves to the network lunch. From the press release:

"Last night’s live, primetime election special, 'Indecision 2008: America’s Choice,' was the highest-rated and most-watched election special in the history of COMEDY CENTRAL’s Award-winning 'Indecision' political coverage, drawing 3.1 million total viewers.

"Co-anchored by Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, the culmination of the 'Indecision 2008' coverage of the presidential campaign was up +45% in total viewers vs. 'The Daily Show with Jon Stewart’s' 'Election Night 2004: Prelude to a Recount' and +60% among Persons 18-49."
