30 is the new 20; 40 is the new 30

The Corsair likes his women a bit older. They have character. Think: Julianne Moore. Or, try: Dianne Lane in Unfaithful. *The Corsair shudders* Even Demi Moore -- her knock knees notwithstanding -- is terribly hott.

Evidently the modeling agencies are finally coming around to the charms of the older woman, according to that significant cultural artifact, Star Magazine:

"Super-young supermodel spokeswomen are suddenly out of fashion. Instead, high-wattage celebs in their 30s and 40s are in demand with top-name advertisers. Neal Hamil, executive vice president of Ford Models, tells Star, 'It's the right time for actresses who are in their mid-to-late 30s to be pulling down contracts, because in many cases they are the age of the consumers.'

"Adds Suzie Sugerman, an agent at NYC's Karin Models: 'Companies feel they are going to sell more with celebrities that people instantly recognize than with models.'

The closer I get to 30, the younger it seems.
