Lawrence O'Donnell: We Tried Something Along The Lines Of An Unmarried GOP Running Mate's Daughter Getting Pregnant (On West Wing) ... No One Would Believe It



Lawrence O'Donnell -- or, as we like to call him at Corsair HQ: LOD -- a former writer and Executive Producer of "The West Wing" was on the Ed Schultz Show this afternoon. LOD, a former assistant to the legendary Senator Daniel Patrick Moynhihan, spoke about trying some edgy material on "The West Wing" years ago. Schultz told O'Donnell, of the news that the GOP running mate's 17-year old daughter was pregnant and unmarried, that no one would have believed it if it were a plot line of "The West Wing."

O'Donnell, surprisingly, agreed, saying, "we tried some of those things 2 or 3 years ago and no one would believe it." What never made it out of the writer's room on "The West Wing" is now, thanks to an evangelical GOP running mate, smack dab at the center of a Presidential race.
