Halperin: Bloomberg Will Be Treasury Secretary No Matter Who Wins White House

On The Charlie Rose Show on Monday July 14th, Mark Halperin, of Time magazine's The Page, speculated that Michael Bloomberg, once considered a possible Presidential candidate and now whispered as a possible Veep, would serve as Treasury Secretary. Either McCain or Obama, according to Halperin, could pick Bloomberg. Bloomberg, the Independent Mayor of New York, is a self-made billionaire and would be an interesting choice for the Treasury. But the present economy, and the criticisms of Paulson, whimay make a post-partisan choice like Bloomberg a lock for the position.
