April Fool's: Hillary Challenges Obama To Bowl Off

In an act of characteristic Clintonian corniness, Senator Clinton challenged Senator Obama to a bowl-off in order to settle the Democratic Presidential nomination. The bowling reference is to Obama's dismal performance at an alley in Pennsylvania, where he hoped to roll a spare and, as if by magic, snag some of the domestic beer vote. The Junior Senator from New York's joke is particularly Corny because everyone -- and Hillary in particular -- knows that Golf, not bowling is the measure of a President's potential leadership of the free world (Exaggerated cough suggesting feigned detachment). From the salmon-colored weekly:

"At a press conference just now, she came out looking serious and even a little somber and stared out from behind the podium.

“'I want to take a moment to say that this has been a very hard-fought race,' Clinton started. Reporters clicked away furiously on their laptops. 'We clearly need to do something so that our party and our people could make the right decision.

“'And I have a proposal,' she said. Dramatic pause.'Today I am challenging Senator Obama to a bowl-off' she said.

"She added that the format would be 'winner-takes-all,' and that she'd "even spot him two frames.”

"The joke went on a little long ...

And so has The Senator's candidacy ...
