Ned Reedus of The Walking Dead |
Last night the Wired Store opened its 9th annual pop up store in New York ( much thanks to Jason Chupnick for the invite). It was the place to be for people of a certain tech pedigree, although Cat Marnell was turned away at the door, and tweeted about it with the hashtag #confusedhumility. The DJ -- who was very nice, even letting us check out the Grace Jones album cover (remember those?) he was playing -- was LCD's James Murphy. I walk in and Norman Reedus -- one of my favorite characters on The Walking Dead -- was standing by the entrance. Was way too nervous-- shy? -- to act like a fan; an opportunity missed, alas.
Among the crowd: J Million and Yummyana, Michael Kauffman, Sami Deluxe, Caitlin Fitgerald, Aya Cash, Katrina Bowden, DJ Tim Martell, Kiely Taylor, the Mueller Brothers, Kelly Bensimon, and Jordan Rudess of Dream Theater.
Of all the cool gadgets I was the biggest fan of the sweet 2014 Corvette Stingray and the insane game installation.
The Wired pop up store is at 353 w 14th street in NYC and will be open Tues.-Sun from 12-8 p.m. through Dec. 22nd. It is a great place to buy high end electronic presents for the gadget lover you know.
