All the beautiful people showed up at last night's Paper magazine annual beautiful people party. "There's a genetic lottery overload in here!" is how Guestofaguest Tweeted it. It is hard to believe that it has been 16 years since the first Beautiful People issue came out. It was wonderful to see David Hershkovitz again. David, Paper's editor, essentially gave me my first break in digital writing. The scene -- the Top of the Standard -- provided an incredible backdrop of the sun going down over the Hudson eventually giving way to an astonishingly beautiful evening skyline.
Champagne, tequila drinks and cupcakes were on the menu. Also spotted in the beautiful crowd: Scene magazine editor Peter Davis (one of the city's sharpest dressed men), Scott Lipps, Mickey Boardman and Tatiana Vidus. Brit songstress Jesse Ware performed a soulful set.
It was bananas.
