Sports translates into massive online visitors (it is even infecting "60 Minutes"), ask CBS Digital's Larry Kramer (We would, but he has a restraining order out on us -- kidding). The big digital story of the World Cup is ESPN's astonishing 40,000 simultaneous streams. Now, according to Paidcontent, they have plans to add social networking to the already potent formula of online sports. Says Rafat Ali:

"ESPN is going to add more social networking tools on its sites.it will unveil as part of ESPNs Sports Nation property the tools for fans to create profiles, contribute to sports blogs, post opinions and link to favorite articlesJohn Zaccario, VP-digital media sales and marketing at ESPN, revealed the plans to advertisers at a pre-NBA Draft party in Chelsea.

"ESPN also unveiled its digital plans for 'Monday Night Football,' coined 'Monday Night Surround'the network would cover the game 'the way ABC covered the Super Bowl with fleets of trucks and armies of crews.'
